Rebuild Two
Here is a unit recieved that had a previous repair made to compensate for a failed motor.  I can tell a lot of time was spent in solving many problems.  As always, this is a good reason not to discount the potential of a Mummy Player for repair.  As long as the basic case isn't destroyed the parts can be replaced.

Previous repairs were made with adding solder to

the contacts.  A piece of plastic was added to the

End Message Tab.  No sure why?

An extra battery terminal was used to double the current

to the old motor.  The motor just needed to be tossed.

Old motor that needed extra current to operate.

Pulley needs to be polished.  It is slightly oxidized.

Pulled off switch cover.

This was the dual battery arrangement to compensate

for the defective old motor.

The original tan speed controller shaft needed to be

recovered.  The old speed controller was completely

dismantled to remove it.

Removed, trimmed and cleaned as much as possible.

Then installed on the new speed controller.

New parts ready for install.  Also spent so time adding plastic

putty and sanding the speed controller area.

The end message switch contact was also modified

with solder and the tip sanded down.  It needs to be

an exact length to end the message correctly. This

shortened piece would have stopped the message too soon.

The turntable shaft cap was damaged with plier marks

and grease. Wet sanded, polished and good as new.

Into the paint booth.

All done.  Looks clean.

Belt pulley polished.

Completed underside with new parts and wiring.

That's a wrap!

Ship it back to the happy customer!
